Just a few weeks ago, I had the huge privilege of being personally invited to Chequers by the President of the United States 🇺🇸 to watch the signing of the sensational tech deal.
I spoke to some of the biggest brains on the planet as they told of how they are keen to invest in the U.K. 🇬🇧, but….
This is a down payment; one after another they said how they need one thing more than anything: cheap energy (and, to be fair, huge reduction in red tape and regulation).
If we are to gain the suggested £400bn boost by 2030 from AI predicted by the boss of Google, we will need to feed six times the current data centre demand for power. SIX TIMES!
That means we need domestic oil and gas; there is no alternative. Even the bosses of the big renewable companies admit that.
Time is running out.
We need to give the North Sea a boost by ending the EPL NOW and allowing new licences and future drilling.
It will add £150bn to the economy and save 200,000 jobs – and I told the Chancellor that yesterday at Chequers. The President can see it, let’s hope the PM and Chancellor will, too.
This is the moment. Let’s grab it.
